Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how TARKET ("TARKET", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares and protects your information when you use the TARKET mobile application, our website at tarket.in and related services (together, the "Services"). We are committed to handling your personal data responsibly and in accordance with applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. This policy is also designed to meet Google Play Store data-safety requirements for grocery delivery applications.

By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Services.

Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to provide and improve the Services:

  • Account and contact details — your name, phone number and delivery address.
  • Order information — items ordered, delivery address, order history and preferences.
  • Device and usage information — as described below.
  • Location information — when you grant permission, to enable delivery.
  • Communications — messages, proofs and queries you send to our support team.

Phone number

We collect your mobile phone number to create and secure your account, verify your identity through one-time passwords (OTP), confirm orders and share delivery updates. Your number may also be used by delivery personnel to coordinate doorstep handover. We do not sell your phone number to third parties.

Device information

To keep the app secure and working well, we may collect technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, language settings, a device identifier, and basic diagnostic or crash data. This helps us prevent fraud, fix issues and improve performance.

Location permissions

With your permission, we collect your device location to detect serviceable areas, suggest your delivery address, and enable accurate delivery and live order tracking. You can enable or disable location access at any time through your device settings. Some features — such as automatic address detection and live tracking — may not work without location access.

Google Maps & Firebase

The app uses Google Maps to display maps, locate addresses and support routing, and Google Firebase for core functionality including phone-number authentication (OTP sign-in), analytics, crash reporting and cloud messaging. These services may process limited identifiers and diagnostic data on our behalf and are governed by Google's privacy terms in addition to this policy.

Push notifications

With your consent, we send push notifications about order status, delivery updates, support responses and, occasionally, relevant offers. You can turn off notifications at any time from your device or app settings.

How data is used

  • To create and manage your account and verify your identity.
  • To process, fulfil and deliver your orders.
  • To provide live order tracking and customer support.
  • To send transactional and service-related communications.
  • To improve, secure and maintain the Services and prevent fraud or misuse.
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

Payment information

Payments made through the Services are processed by third-party payment gateways and financial partners that comply with applicable security standards, including PCI-DSS. TARKET does not collect or store your full card numbers, CVV, UPI PIN or banking credentials. We may retain limited, non-sensitive transaction details (such as an order reference, amount and payment status) for accounting, refunds and dispute resolution.

Cookies & tracking

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site secure, remember preferences and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect certain website features. Our mobile app uses device identifiers and analytics tools (such as Firebase) rather than browser cookies for similar purposes.

Third-party services

We work with trusted third-party providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards, including:

  • Google Firebase — authentication, analytics, crash reporting and notifications.
  • Google Maps — maps, address lookup and routing.
  • Payment gateways — secure payment processing (for example, services such as Razorpay or Cashfree).

These providers are permitted to use your information only to perform services for us and must protect it in line with applicable law.

Account security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, OTP-based authentication, access controls and secure infrastructure — to protect your information. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and device secure and for activity under your account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your data.

Sharing & disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only as necessary: with delivery personnel to complete your delivery; with service providers (such as Firebase, Google Maps and payment gateways); when required by law, regulation or valid governmental request; and to protect the rights, safety and security of TARKET, our users and the public.

Data retention

We keep personal data only for as long as needed to provide the Services, meet the purposes described in this policy, and satisfy legal, tax or accounting requirements. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it.

User rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request to access, correct or update your personal data, withdraw consent, or object to certain processing, and you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below.

Account & data deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. Email supporttm@tarket.in from your registered email or call +91 97329 74330 with your request. We will verify your identity and process the deletion in accordance with applicable law. Certain information may be retained where required for legal, tax or fraud-prevention purposes.

Google Play account deletion: Requests for account and data deletion can be made by emailing supporttm@tarket.in. We aim to action verified requests within a reasonable time frame.

Children's privacy

The Services are intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a minor has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Policy updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, through in-app or other notice. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
